Before the move
How we plan a New Hampshire load
Every New Hampshire move starts with an NHDOT oversize or overweight permit, filed through the NHDOT Permits online system. Our permitting team checks the size, weight and route against the New Hampshire rules in Tra 304, then sets the escorts and travel windows the permit calls for.
New Hampshire oversize moves are weekday moves, from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset, and never on the state holidays. From 12'W up to 14'W one escort runs with the load, a second joins when the load also carries 15' or more of rear overhang, and at 100'L or more a New Hampshire State Police escort is added.
Over 110'L, or over 13'6"H, the move needs a route survey. From 150,000 lbs, the permit goes to NHDOT Bridge Design for review, and New Hampshire classes the move as a supermove. Our 22 axle setups carry loads up to 300,000 lbs.
