Before the move
How we plan a Pennsylvania load
Every Pennsylvania move starts with the PennDOT permit. Our permitting team checks the size, weight and route against PennDOT's permit conditions, then sets the pilot cars, height pole and travel windows the permit calls for.
A super load in Pennsylvania is over 201,000 lbs, 160'L or 16'W. It goes through PennDOT's APRAS web system with a windshield route survey, and runs with a certified escort vehicle or a State Police escort.
The PennDOT permit does not cover the Pennsylvania Turnpike, so we plan any Turnpike leg on its own.

Rules change. We checked these rules on October 1, 2026 against PennDOT form M 938, PennDOT's pilot car cheat sheet, load type guide and 2026 holiday list, 67 Pa. Code Chapter 179 and Title 75, and each one against a second source. Our permitting team confirms the current rules for every move.
