Before the move
How we plan a Montana load
Every Montana move starts with an MDT permit. Our permitting team checks the size, weight and route against the Montana rules, then sets the pilot vehicles and travel windows the permit calls for.
On interstates, permitted loads up to 18'W may travel 24 hours a day. Off the interstate, a load over 10'W, 150'L or 15'6"H travels in daylight only, and pilot vehicles start over 12'6"W.
Over 18'W, 17'H or 150'L, the load needs an MDT superload permit. Our 22 axle setups carry loads up to 300,000 lbs.
